WWW Wednesday is a book meme run by Taking on a World of Words.
Each week we’re asked three questions –
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I was sleepy on Saturday and ended up watching Far From the Madding Crowd on HBO, because I will watch Carey Mulligan in anything. Once it ended I realized I had not read that book, nor anything else by Thomas Hardy, and I had Tess of the d’Urbervilles on my Kindle already (thanks out of copyright e-books!) so I’ve been digging into that very unexpectedly.
I’m also working my way through Wolf Hall and enjoying it a lot. I think I’ve also convinced a family member to pick it up as well, so yay itty-bitty book clubs!
What did you recently finish reading?
I finished three things, though all very short things.
Second was Nick Offerman’s Paddle Your Own Canoe, which I enjoyed far less than the former title, and less than I had hoped to, but was still something you may want to pick up. Review for that is also up now.
Finally I just completed Will Eisner’s A Contract With God, the first “graphic novel.” Due to that title it has a pretty interesting format, and is definitely not for kids you weirdos who think comic strips are juvenile. A stink eye to you! Review for that soon.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I should be able to finish Tess this week, so I’ll be starting up Frankenstein in the next couple of days.
I’m also taking part in Infinite Winter, a structured read-through of Infinite Jest, which starts on Sunday. I’ve tried to tackle that book twice now alone, so I’m excited to work through it with a support system. It’s only 75 pages a week, so it’ll be on my “currently reading” booklist for a while, but I’m super pumped. You should join too! Everyone should join!
