This Week’s Topic : Songs and Books
This week we have another relatively open-ended topic. I was originally going to look at songs inspired by books; any books. But then as I went along in my research I realized not only did half of my entries draw inspiration from Middle Earth, but there are all from about the same time period. So here you go folks- ten songs inspired by The Lord of the Rings. The 70’s really, really liked Hobbits.

- The Lords of the Ring – Styx

I love your take on this week’s topic. Also, I had no clue half of these songs were inspired by Tolkien. that’s amazing! I’m just going to compile a list of the songs I come across because they’ve all been so good so far.

I never would’ve thought there’d be so many! But this is the one I did know about, and I feel it’s important to share: The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, performed by Leonard Nimoy.

There’s a symphony based on The Lord of the Rings, too. Johan de Meij wrote it in the ’80s, before the movies came out.
