This Week’s Topic :  Spring TBR

Spring is here! Sort of! It actually showed up in the blustery north for a few days last week. Hell, I’d even say it skipped right over spring for a few days in there while we hit 70 degrees. Bust out the swim suits!

Of course it’s back in the 30s again now. Low 40s if we’re lucky– that strange weather point where you get rain rather than snow but you just really, really don’t want that sort of wet cold soaking you through. It’s the pits.

Though the weather is indecisive my reading order has been a little more focused. Shame my reading time is just being diced to pieces this month though. At least Spring lasts until June technically, so I’m pretty sure I’ll get all of these done by then and then some, since I’ve surely forgotten several things…

  1. Persuasion by Jane Austen
  2. Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
  3. Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman
  4. Bring up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel
  5. Essex Country by Jeff Lemire
  6. Nimona by Noelle Stevenson
  7. S by J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst
  8. 1493 by Charles C. Mann
  9. The Magicians by Lev Grossman
  10. The Invention of Nature by Andrea Wulf

Many of these I’ve already talked about at length, especially since a few have been on the TBR for quite a while. Some will be far easier than others (like the graphic novels) and several satisfy some part of a book challenge that I’m doing (like Salinger and Austen).

A few I’m a little afraid of- S in particular will be a challenge. I got my copy recently on a pledge to read it along with some coworkers and it looks to be on a completely different plane of bizarre. I’m also going to need to be in a right frame of mind to start 1493 and The Invention of Nature. I’m finishing up some non-fiction right now and my brain just isn’t deal with it as well as it normally does.

Anyway, maybe I’ll actually be able to read some of these outside soon on the newly stained deck that I toiled over. Work with me weather, please?

So what’s on your TBR? Have anything that’s been on the list for a million years? Planning on just hitting up the store or library and winging it? Let me hear all about it!
