WWW Wednesday is a book meme run by Taking on a World of Words.
Each week we’re asked three questions –
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?Right now… just…. Infinite Jest. So weird.
I’m in the middle of a perfect storm of free time: no more curling, but other sports haven’t started yet, I have spring break both at work an in school, and my lungs are still far too uncooperative to allow any half-marathon training.
What did you recently finish reading?
Because of the aforementioned free time I finished an ARC of Escapee over the weekend, and then three books in the last two days, all of which have reviews that should be posted… soon?
First up we have Nimona, which was delightful and colorful and hilarious.
Secondly, we have Brandon Sanderson’s Steelheart, which was fun but a terrible mistake. I have soooo many unfinished series running right now, why did I start another one???
Speaking of unfinished series, I also completed The Magicians. So now I have not one, but TWO brand new trilogies that I have to finish.
Ugh, why do I do this to myself? I still have to get to Words of Radiance, and Bring up the Bodies, and 1493, and Discworld and oh gosh probably a billion other things I’m forgetting about. I gotta start tying up these loose ends!
What do you think you’ll read next?
Equal Rites and Bring up the Bodies are next up on my to-read lists, so that’s the plan for the weekend. I also have Jury Duty next week, so Fragile Things is on my radar, and possibly 1493. Because I really, really need to get these series and sequels done and over. Bad. BAD.
There is also my graphic novel pile… Essex County, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume 1, Lumberjanes Volume 1, Avatar : Smoke & Shadow Volumes 1 and 2…. crap.
Bring up the Bodies and Equal Rites are both fantastic! Very different… but both fantastic! 🙂 You have a great weekend of reading ahead.

I hope you like ‘Bring Up The Bodies.’ I’ve heard a lot of good things about that series. I think it’s so exciting that you do curling! I love watching that sport on the Olympics. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

I liked it for the most part, but it was really bizarre. Very different than what I expected!

I really want to read Nimona! I’ve had it on hold at the library for a little while now, but I think I’m still 6th or something in the queue. I always keep thinking I would like to try Brandon Sanderson, but I always get put off by the sheer length of his series.

The Steelheart series is more YA in tone, and I believe there are only 3 books total (each 400 ish pages). Much easier to jump into than some of his others which are huuuge.
