WWW Wednesday is a book meme run by Taking on a World of Words.
Each week we’re asked three questions –
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?Fragile Things has taken a small hiatus for the time being… which is OK because it’s just a collection of short stories that aren’t really connected in any way. I’m getting through it at a slow pace, but larger narratives have been eating my time.
Speaking of Neil Gaiman, I’m working on my re-read of Good Omens, which I last touched about a decade ago, long before I had ever read anything else by Pratchett so it’s fun going.
And finally, I’m nearly done with Firefight by Brandon Sanderson. It’s such a fast read, and I’m actually enjoying it more than it’s predecessor so far.
What did you recently finish reading?
Guys, guys, guys. I finished Infinite Jest. I feel like I need to read it about 6 more times to actually understand everything it has to say, but it was certainly a fascinating, amusing, and sometimes depressing roller coaster of a book. Definitely one of the most challenging things I’ve ever read, but well worth it.
On a lighter note, I also finished Mort which is my favorite of the Discworld series so far (all 4 that I’ve read…). I also finally jumped into The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, reading the first volume and generating some mixed feelings.
Reviews for all well be up at some point this week. Maybe. I’m struggling with how to even review Infinite Jest.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I doubt I’ll finish anything this week, with the exception of maybe Firefight. If that happens I’m going to jump right into Calamity so that I can close out that series.
I also have a few other group-reads that will be starting in another week or two, but I’m going to give myself some time to breathe before those begin…
Glad you enjoyed Mort! It is one of my favourites for sure. I haven’t read all of them yet. I’m working through Guards! Guards! right now and it’s so good!
Happy Reading 🙂

I’ve seen the movie of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen; I never realised it was a book too. I hope you enjoy it.

It’s a comic series by Alan Moore (who also wrote V for Vendetta, Watchmen, and a bunch of others). It was alright haha, I’ve read better.

Haha, well to be fair I was reading Infinite Jest for like 3 months, and League is a super short graphic novel, and Mort was only 240 pages. It seems like much more that it really was!

I’m so glad you enjoyed Mort 🙂 Mainly because this will encourage you to keep going with the Discworld which just keep getting better and better (with a could of not so brilliant ones… but that’s bound to happen in such a large series!).
I still haven’t read anything by Sanderson but plan to start with Mistborn… eventually!

I haven’t gotten to Mistborn yet, just the Reckoners series and the first of the Stormlight Archive, but so far I’m liking his style!
