Thanks to #TackleTBR I got quite a bit accomplished this month. So much, in fact, that I’m slowing down my reading a little bit to actually focus on National Novel Writing Month again. Am I crazy for attempting it a second time? Last year I “won” but I wasn’t in grad school at that point. Should I set myself an unofficial goal? I still have time to think on it… so until then lets talk about books written by actual novelists.

  • Favorite Book of the Month : The Passage, hands down. It was so engrossing, and if I wasn’t trying to get through a few other things on my TBR first I’d be snatching up its two sequels.
  • Least Favorite Book of the Month : The second volume of Doctor Strange and the three Pottermore Presents book were all a bit underwhelming. They were worth reading, but didn’t reach expectations.
  • Favorite Highlight : “It happened fast. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die, another to be born.”- The Passage
  • Everyone Should Read : The Importance of Being Earnest. It’s a classic for a reason.
  • Topic That I’m Now Obsessed With : Nothing in particular actually. I’ve been diving into so many different genres lately that my attention span hasn’t lasted long with any of them.
  • New (to me) Author I Want to Read More Of : I will definitely read more by Justin Cronin, as well as any other bizarre series Guillermo del Toro decides to pen. Man was The Strain a weird trip.
  • New (to me) Author I Think I’ll Skip From Now On : I enjoyed all of my new authors this month. Huzzah for enjoying things!
  • Looking Forward To Reading : Finishing up The Magicians series, and starting The Twelve, and actually having time this weekend to work on The Master and Margarita.
  • Reading Challenge Status :
