WWW Wednesday is a book meme run by Taking on a World of Words.
Each week we’re asked three questions –
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I’ve got a few things going on right now because my attention span is just complete garbage this month. First off is Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman by Richard Feynman. It’s a very strange biography-meets-science-meets-dude talking about his crazy life sort of book. I’m digging it so far, but I’ve been eating it in small bites.
Secondly, I have my running audiobook, which is Blood RitesBlood Rites by Jim Butcher. It’s book 6 in the Dresden Files series, which I started about 7 years ago and stopped for whatever reason. It makes for good entertainment while out on those 10+ milers…
Finally, I’m slowly working on The Master and Margarita, which I was going to read as my October Classic, but which is probably not getting finished now until November. It requires more time and focus than I have to spare.
What did you recently finish reading?
I read Joan Lindsay’s Picnic on Hanging Rock, which will be my October Classic and my Australia selection for Read About Where. I watched the movie after finishing it (thanks Hulu!) and I’m still trying to decide if I liked either at all, which is why the review is taking ages.
Finally, I scooped up Immortal Iron Fist Volume 1, which was actually way better than I expected (not generally being a fan of kung fu type things, but being a sucker for the Marvel Netflix shows).
What do you think you’ll read next?
I have literally three things on my TBR for the rest of October and all of November – The Master and Margarita, Moving Pictures, and Reaperman. One classic, two Discworld books. Anything other than that will just be icing on the cake. I’m going to try NaNoWriMo again, because masochism, so reading will be shelved in favoring of creating my own stories for once.
Now I just need to tighten up my concept…
Wow! You do have a lot of books going at once! That can either be fun or really confusing. Happy reading!

Reaperman is great. Obviously. Any Discworld book starring Death, or should I say, DEATH, is a winner! 🙂 I remember enjoying Moving Pictures too because I love cinema and there are some brilliant in-jokes (as usual). The footnotes in that one are particularly good, I seem to remember.

Reaper Man was the last Discworld novel I read and is one of my favourites! Just an enjoyable read, but as Claire says, any book with Death is a delight!
Good luck with Master and the Margarita. I haven’t read it yet, but it’s been on my TBR for ages ;P
Happy Reading 🙂
