WWW Wednesday is a book meme run by Taking on a World of Words.
Each week we’re asked three questions –
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?I’m getting close to finishing Dead Wake, and I’m slowly chugging through Bring Up the Bodies. Both are very good, but my brain is just insanely scattered right now so my focus is very off.
It may also have to do with watching season 2 of both Bosch and Daredevil though… I mean, those are both based on books, so that’s not a bad thing, right?
Oh, and Infinite Jest. I’m in the home stretch now, about 250 pages left. Though after Infinite Winter is finished I’ve pledged to do a read of War and Peace so I’m just never getting away from crazy long books stretched out over a few months…
What did you recently finish reading?
Only Equal Rites now that I think about it. Dang, this really has not been a good week at all. Sorry kids
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’ve been saying this for literally two months, but Fragile Things. Finally. For real. I also need to start on my re-read of Good Omens so I can make sure it’s finished and properly ruminated on before my book club meets. More fantasy this month- more!
I’m glad you’re enjoying Bring Up the Bodies. I just loved it and Wolf Hall.
I really need to read Good Omens. Another one that’s been sitting on my TBR forever. It’s one of my sister’s favourite books too.

I’ve tackled a bunch of other Russian lit in the past, so I’m not too terrified. I’m more worried everyone in my reading group is going to bail on me

Ahaha They’ll be needing lots of encourage and support then. I tried reading Crime and Punishment before and had to whisper to myself ‘four hundred more pages bucko, make Dostoevsky proud’

That’s how I felt for a lot of Brothers Karamazov. Loved big chunks of it, but then other parts were just… keep going..keep going… you can do this…

Atleast you guys have each other to cheer up. It’s like working out but with Tolstoy and a 1000+ page book. God, I need a drink just thinking of that.

Devil is my favorite of his so far, but Dead Wake has been really good. I don’t think it’ll top Devil, but it’s close!

This is a great reminder that I need to read more Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Especially Good Omens! What did you think of Equal Rites? 🙂 Happy reading!

Equal Rites was ok. Not my favorite so far, but I get why the setup for the Witches is important.

I read it ages ago, and barely remember it. I’m excited my book club picked it so I have an excuse to jump in again.

Nice update 🙂 I get my book reviews from your blog hehe, and I always enjoy reading them. I wonder what you think of the turn of the screw, it’s my favourite novel/novella.

I don’t think I’ve read that one. I’ll have to add it to the pile 🙂

Good on you for reading Dead Wake; I read it recently and whilst I was fascinated by the content I found it quite slow going.

Glad you’re liking Dead Wake! I enjoyed it a lot but I haven’t had much time to work on my next Larson this past week. Too many other priorities. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
