WWW Wednesday is a book meme run by Taking on a World of Words.
Each week we’re asked three questions –
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
So I’ve been knocked out by the worst cold I’ve had in probably a decade. Not great for thinking… or staying conscious. Though somehow my three person team got 4th out of 20 at trivia last night? I can’t explain that.
Anyway, I’m actually behind for the first time ever on the Infinite Winter IJ read-along. I have a three day weekend though, so I’m hoping to catch up. I’m not horrifically behind, but in that dense book 40 pages can be alot.
I’m also working through The Magicians, which is insanely different from the television show, and so far not as horrible, and also not as amazing as I’ve heard people rant or rave.
Finally, I have an ARC that I’m digging in to, which I have hopes to finish in the next few days, because what is the point of an ARC if your review doesn’t actually come out in advance?
What did you recently finish reading?
The Ladies of Grace Adieu has been conquered, with a review in the works. I haven’t picked up a short story collection in quite a while, so it was sort of a scattered read- some tales better than others. Anyway, I’ll save additional opinions for the actual review.
I also completed Persuasion for the Pretty Books Classics Challenge. I hadn’t visited an Austen work since high school, and had never read that particular one before, but ended up really enjoying it!
What do you think you’ll read next?
I haven’t gotten to my March Discworld read yet, so that is mega priority #1. Otherwise I still want to get to Fragile Things and Nimona. Feeling better + long weekend = lots of reading? I hope?
I really liked Nimona, hope you enjoy it as well and I am glad you are feeling better. Persuasion is one of my favourite Austen’s.

Sorry to hear you’ve been laid low by a nasty cold. I think that could be the same one we had in our house last month. It hung around for 3 weeks and was rather grim. I hope you’re feeling better soon.
Any Austen is a good prescription when feeling under the weather (although perhaps not Mansfield Park… I’m not a fan of that one). Persuasion is one of my favourites.

Yeah its just been a whole bunch of lingering unpleasantness. I think it might finally be over… hopefully.
I agree with you on Mansfield Park… not her best. I have yet to read Northanger Abbey though, and I hear it’s kinda different.

I had no idea ‘The Magicians’ was a TV show. I listened to the audio a few years back and didn’t like it enough to read book 2. I might check out a TV show of the series, though. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
